If you're not familiar with Keynote (Figure A), here's a quick guide to performing the most common presentation actions.
I was having problems with PowerPoint - it would suddenly quit while playing embedded videos. Keynote works just fine doing this. Also, Keynote does not lose links to videos when you move it from one computer to another.
PowerPoint is complex when you're making a presentation and doesn't get easier when you're in the audience. Just watch anybody, new or experienced, struggle with finding where PowerPoint hides its Play Slides button and you'll wish they'd used Keynote.
Add Text: Click the Text icon at the top of the Keynote application, move (if required) the new text box, and then click within the text box to begin entering text.

Keynote makes opening Powerpoint presentations super easy. Just open Keynote on your Mac, select import an existing file, and chose your PowerPoint presentation. That’s it!

Format Text: Highlight the text to adjust and click the Text tab within the Inspector pane that appears on the right-side of the Keynote screen.
You don’t work in one place on just one device. The same goes for Keynote. So the slides your team creates using a Mac or iPad look the same on an iPhone or web browser — and vice versa.
After restarting, the new version of Keynote was there and ready to use. I have seen similar problems on other fora - it seems like it gets downloaded, but this doesn't show anywhere and the new version is not activated. If you try to delete Keynote, you get an error message saying other processes are still using it.
